2004 Season - Week 12
Great Trading.
Congratulations to Dave G and Cheryl who both entered the Hall of Fame this week, and they are not finished yet. Cheryl enters the Hall for just the second time, having scored 57 points way back in week 17 of the 1999 season. She will look to pass that total as she has 54 points already with both her kicker (Jason Elam) and Receiver (Rod Smith) playing in Denver’s game against Oakland which we will see tonight. Her 2 scores since trading day 2 (91 points) has brought her back from being 72 points behind Phil to briefly being in the promotion places last night. Three of her trades (RB’s Derrick Blaylock and Michael Pittman and WR Brandon Stokley) accounted for 42 points (7 TD’s) this week. Whether her trades will prove as successful as Dave’s only time will tell. Dave is back in the Hall for the second time in three weeks and his personal best 57 point total is likely to be increased when his kicker Jeff Wilkins plays in Green Bay on Monday Night. When Dave made his first trades he was 30 points below the drop line. Now he sits 62 points above it. The 247 points he has scored since his first trades have only been bettered by defending champion and league leading Wayne’s 256, but Wayne has no one left to play this week.
Phili Four.
With 5 weeks left Philadelphia became the first team to clinch a play-off spot as they won the NFC East for the fourth consecutive season after defeating the slumping New York Giants yesterday. Atlanta are a game away from clinching the South after their come from behind win over New Orleans while the Green Bay St Louis Monday night match-up has great implications for the lead in both the NFC North and West. In the AFC it’s a much closer race, only Pittsburgh have a 3 game divisional lead. Baltimore at 7-4 are currently out of the AFC wildcard race while in the NFC seven teams are at 4-7 and only one game out of the second wildcard spot!
